WayAndSee is designed for “Lazy Use” (just let it run in the background) and answers the usual questions:
- WHERE have I been?
- WHEN was it?
- HOW did I get there?
- WHAT did I see?
- HOW MANY SeeScore Points did I get
WHERE / WHEN / HOW:
Uncovers the world as you way through it.
You see your traces of movement of the last 10 days on the main map.
On devices that support “CoreMotion” (almost all iPhones / iPads), WayAndSee colors the tracks on the map by movement type (walking, running, cycling, driving a car, etc.)
Everything is stored permanently and can be listed by year, month, day or travel (eg: “2018 visit to Apple”).
Visited places (continents, seas, countries, cities, landmarks, etc.) are listed in a structured way.
HOW MUCH
For each location visited (continents, seas, cities, landmarks, etc.) and for the exposed area you will receive “SeeScore” points.
There is an overview, detailed view and you can share your current “SeeScoreCard” with others in the usual ways.
There is no way to manipulate points! The only way to score, is to go there … no tricks … go there!
WHAT:
Tap on a listed place and see the matching Wikipedia article (s).
We just like Wikipedia and will continue to support Wikipedia.
With a tap, you can also automatically view your photos filtered by location or by days.
DATA PROTECTION:
We are committed to data privacy!
Our business is software - not data!
So: WE DO NOT WANT YOUR DATA!
We will not copy, move, transfer, send, sell, exchange or what ever your data. We don’t need it! We don’t want it! We don’t take it!
Your data will stay here on that device. And you do not have to register to any website. We don’t need that … as we do not want your data!
WayAndSee only uses standard IOS functions and our own code. No third party software or other program modules are used. By that, we can ensure you, that there is no “backdoor” or such to your data either.
Your data stays private!
OPERATING MODES / POWER CONSUMPTION:
WayAndSee uses standard IOS features to track your current location.
This causes additional power consumption to your other activities.
To give you a way to influence this power consumption, there are two modes of operation:
BEST BATTERY:
Your location is only taken every few minute.
That’s enough to tell in which area you are staying. This reduces the additional power consumption to a minimum.
BEST QUALITY:
Your current location is taken continuously.
This shows you exactly (within the system limits) which way you have taken. Of course, this means a significantly increased power consumption compared to “Best Battery”, because it uses the GPS hardware continuously.
See “Auto Restart” for a way to optimize it.
AUTO RESTART:
Can be turned on in addition to “Best Battery” and “Best Quality”.
“Auto Restart” starts and stops the recording automatically.
It detects whether the device is at rest or stays in the same place for a long time. In these cases, the recording is automatically paused and automatically restarted if this changes.
PLEASE NOTE:
“Best battery” and “Auto Restart” require the permission to record your location in the background (“always”).
Only then, WayAndSee may use the required IOS functions.
